 Ballade & Pick & Mix

We are very excited to be unveiling two new publications AND to announce our LATEST COMPETITION.........Please read on.....................;

'Ballade' (for Alto saxophone and piano), and 'Pick & mix quartets' (A flexible quartet collection for either SATB saxophone ensemble OR indeed playable on other Bb, Eb, and C instruments).

Ballade was written in May this year as a small surprise for Saxophonist/Pianist Alistair Parnell (Nottingham, UK ). The piece, for Alto saxophone and piano is around 4"25 in length and the style is unashamedly smooth and sentimental.....a 'proper' saxophone piece! Complete with added jazz inflections and a middle section that launches off with more passion, we are predicting that this will be a real hit for saxophonists of the 'Baker street' and 'Careless whisper' type ilk!

Books are now at the printers and in addition to the score and pull out saxophone part, there will be an accompanying CD with demonstration and backing track for those without an accompanist at their beck and call!

The Pick & Mix quartets collection consists of eight quartets for ensembles around grade 2 - 4 standard. The pieces themselves vary in difficulty, with some being very achievable with minimum practice, through to more challenging grade 4/5 pieces designed to push the ensembles skills a little! Although these have been tried and tested with SATB saxophone quartet, the beauty of these is that EVERY PART (A,B,C,D) COMES IN THE OPTION OF PLAYING IT ON C, Bb, or Eb instruments. So, If you have 2 alto saxes, a clarinet and a flute that's just fine!

Pieces in the collection include (among others);

'Together we stand'

'Shmooky and Mo'

'All that you are'

'Clockwork chuck' (as in chicken, NOT a thing on the end of a drill!)
